Kishnani: Ginsberg in the House

Ruth Bader Ginsberg was at Stanford today and even though she isn't quite as popular as Oprah, she is quite an interesting woman.

I'd have to admit that I didn't know much about her until today, but she has led a very fascinating life. Ginsberg grew up in Brooklyn, New York and received a B.A. in Government from Columbia followed by a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Also, due to suffering gender discrimination since she was young, Ginsberg has always been a champion of Women's Rights.

Ginsberg was appointed to the US Supreme Court by President Clinton in 1993. Over her 20 years on the Supreme Court, she continues to be outspoken and to clearly stand up for what she believes in. Earlier this month, she became the first Supreme Court Justice to officiate a same-sex wedding.

Forbes listed Ginsberg as one of the 100 most powerful women in 2009 and she is truly a legend.
